Wreck Diver

Explore history beneath the waves. The PADI Wreck Diver course opens up a whole new dimension of diving, letting you explore sunken ships, planes, and other fascinating wrecks safely and confidently.

Dive with purpose. Learn techniques for navigation, buoyancy, and penetration planning to safely explore wrecks while minimizing impact on fragile structures and marine life. This course transforms wreck diving from intimidating to exhilarating.

 

Requirements to enroll:

  • Minimum age 15 years

  • Certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)

 

Theory:
Complete the PADI eLearning at your own pace, covering wreck diving procedures, penetration planning, safety protocols, and environmental considerations. Our instructors are available to answer questions as you go.

 

Practical training:
You’ll complete four wreck dives, practicing navigation around wrecks, buoyancy control, and safe penetration techniques. Skills are taught both outside and inside wreck structures where safe, giving you confidence to dive independently.

 

What you’ll be qualified to do:
Upon certification, you’ll be a PADI Wreck Diver, capable of planning and conducting dives on wreck sites safely, whether exploring the structure externally or making controlled, cautious penetrations.

Pro tip: Pair this specialty with PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver training to extend your bottom time on wreck dives, letting you explore more safely and thoroughly.
