

Assistant Instructor
Looking to take the next step toward becoming a professional diver? The PADI Assistant Instructor course prepares you to teach and assist in scuba programs under the supervision of a PADI Instructor, helping you gain valuable experience and confidence as a dive educator.
This course is ideal for divers who want to develop teaching skills, gain leadership experience, and progress toward becoming a full PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. It’s the perfect bridge between Divemaster and Instructor certification.
Requirements to enroll:

Be a PADI Divemaster

Be at least 18 years old

Have a minimum of 60 logged dives

Have a current CPR and first aid certification (within the last 24 months)

Complete the medical questionnaire and waiver
Theory:
You’ll complete knowledge development modules, including dive theory, teaching principles, and the PADI system of diver education. These can be completed through self-study and instructor-led sessions, with support available if you have questions.
Practical training:
Practical sessions include supervised teaching of confined water skills, assisting with open water training dives, and learning how to plan and conduct student dive activities safely and effectively.
What you’ll be qualified to do:
Once certified, you’ll be able to assist PADI Instructors with student training, conduct confined water sessions, and gain hands-on teaching experience. This certification also puts you on the path to becoming a full PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
