Emergency First Response (EFR)
Accidents can happen anywhere - on land or at sea. The Emergency First Response (EFR) course gives you the confidence and skills to respond effectively in a medical emergency.
It’s not just for divers - anyone can take this course. In fact, it’s a prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all professional-level training, but it’s equally valuable in everyday life.
Requirements to enroll:
-
Minimum age 12 years
-
No prior diving certification required
Theory:
You’ll complete the EFR eLearning at your own pace, covering both Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid). Learn how to assess situations, perform CPR, use an AED, and manage injuries or illnesses until medical help arrives. Our instructors are always available to clarify anything along the way.
Practical training:
This is a dry, non-diving course - all the training happens on land. You’ll put your knowledge into practice through realistic emergency scenarios, including CPR techniques, bandaging, splinting, and patient assessment using training mannequins and first aid equipment.
What you’ll be qualified to do:
After completing the course, you’ll be certified as an Emergency First Responder, with valid CPR and First Aid training for 24 months. To keep your knowledge fresh and maintain confidence in your skills, it’s recommended to complete a refresher course every two years. These internationally recognized skills meet the requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and are widely accepted in both diving and non-diving environments.
Whether you’re preparing for the next step in your dive training or simply want to be the calm one in a crisis, this is a skillset everyone should have.
